Associate

Next Street Financial LLC is seeking an experienced Associate to add to its team of advisory and financial services professionals. The ideal candidate will be a high-performing experienced individual from a top tier management consulting training program. It is conceivable that the candidate may come from the strategy or consultancy group within a large accounting and related services institution. He/she will work closely with other members of the firm and will be responsible for leading client engagements, identifying business issues, forming hypotheses for these issues and conducting analyses to synthesize conclusions into recommendations while working closely with portfolio companies to drive the implementation of recommendations. The Associate will be asked to utilize strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to support client work, complete financial and strategic assessments, develop recommendations and support implementation.

This professional will also be involved in all components of financial transactions, including deal due diligence and structuring. Broadly defined, the Associate will be responsible for evaluating and executing opportunities to put the firm's resources to work in various urban and inner-city small businesses. He/she will also monitor portfolio performance and compliance, prepare for Commitments Committee reviews and develop external updates, as necessary.

He / she will be asked to adopt/adapt the strategic and financial tools and techniques used with large companies for use in the Next Street Financial target market. The position requires a robust financial and analytical background, a strong work ethic and an ability to work independently. Deal teams are leanly staffed, giving Associates the opportunity to play a key role in advisory and deal execution, take on added responsibility and interact with senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer experienced candidates from a top-tier management consulting program
  • Must be a self-starter and motivated individual with a strong desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Creativity and a mindset that seeks to redefine the rules of the game
  • Strong quantitative and demonstrated financial modeling skills (DCFs, market research, company comparables, transaction due diligence, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Capability to adhere to stringent timetables and capacity to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong academic background
  • Desire and commitment to grow with the firm
  • Pre or Post-MBA candidates will be considered to fill various Associate roles
