Each year, after the Black Friday crowds disperse, we turn our attention to Small Business Saturday, to celebrate and support small businesses and entrepreneurs. Small businesses are truly the backbone of our economy, responsible for 64% of net new jobs created between 1993 and 2011, totaling 11.8 million jobs*.

Next Street was founded based on a commitment to serve high-potential small businesses and catalyze job growth. Each year we serve over 5,000 New York City-based businesses and entrepreneurs through two brick and mortar business solutions centers, and various other initiatives that we operate or support through a partnership with the NYC Department of Small Business Services. NYC Business Solutions Centers

Next Street operates the NYC Business Solutions Centers in Lower Manhattan and Queens, which each offer a range of services, including business courses, legal assistance, financing assistance, government incentives, support navigating government, recruitment support, training solutions, and M/WBE Certification. Women Entrepreneurs NYC

WE NYC is an initiative based out of SBS focused on helping women start and grow their own businesses. The initiative offers a variety of programs to support women entrepreneurs, including networking events, mentorship programs, educational workshops, and more.

WE Master Leadership

WE Master Leadership is a 3-day workshop offering tools and tips to help entrepreneurs master negotiation skills, craft a formal business pitch to win new business, and hone collaborative leadership skills. The next WE Master Leadership workshop will be held on November 30th, December 7th, and December 14th in Brooklyn. WE Fund: Crowd

Earlier this month, SBS announced the launch of WE Fund: Crowd, which will help women entrepreneurs in NYC access affordable capital through crowdfunding. The City will contribute the first 10% of crowdfunded loans secured by women entrepreneurs through Kiva’s platform, facilitating more than $3 million in loans.
