Buffalo Mayor Announces Next Street as Beverly Gray Business Exchange Center Operator

By August 11, 2017 Events, News

Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown, along with representatives from the National Development Council and Community Development Properties, Buffalo, Inc. announced yesterday that the City has selected Next Street as the program operator for the Beverly Gray Business Exchange Center.

The Exchange is a brick and mortar small business technical resource center located in Buffalo’s Eastside neighborhood. It is a comprehensive, one-stop center designed to support entrepreneurship and innovation for Minority and Women-Owned Enterprises, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses, and small businesses in the City of Buffalo and Western New York region. The Exchange will serve as an information clearinghouse for small businesses and a hub of entrepreneurship and community wealth generation on the Eastside.

In 2015, Next Street worked closely with the City to conduct a study of Buffalo’s small business environment, which was used to design the Exchange and its offerings. After almost three years of working with Buffalo’s community leaders, local institutions, and business owners, Next Street is excited to be serving as the program operator, and thrilled to have the opportunity to help Buffalo’s entrepreneurs grow their businesses.

The Exchange will open its doors in late Fall, and we will be hiring an Executive Director and an Account Manager to lead the Exchange and begin delivering these important services to local entrepreneurs and small businesses. Please visit our careers page for more information or to apply.
