On March 9th, Mayor Marty Walsh announced the release of the City of Boston Small Business Plan. Next Street, in partnership with Mass Economics, is honored to have partnered with the City of Boston to conduct the small business study over the past year, to create an environment that supports the ability for small businesses to thrive economically, enhances neighborhood vibrancy, and fosters economic and social inclusion and equity.
As Economic Development Chief John Barros stated during Thursday’s announcement, “small businesses are the lifeblood of this city’s economy.” The plan proposes policies, programs, and tools across twenty core Small Business Solutions initiatives. Together, these initiatives aim to address specific gaps in key small business segments, and to enhance the ability of minority, immigrant, and women entrepreneurs to successfully launch and grow small businesses across the City.
