Before joining Next Street, Kamran Qamar built a 15-year technology and product development career, focusing on learning and applying his expertise across diverse private sector industries. He embraced the philosophy of bringing businesses together based on similarities and using technology as a common denominator to bridge differences. Kamran contributed significantly to the growth of an independent energy retailer until its acquisition.
Passionate about learning, Kamran earned a Master of Technology Management from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Computer Engineering Technology from Northeastern University. In 2020, he served at a digital gold company, spearheading B2C/B2B2C platforms for digitizing gold ownership and scaling the company’s employee base and global presence.

Kamran’s journey aligns with Next Street’s mission. After migrating to North America, he witnessed his father’s struggle to find support for his business, which had been successful abroad. This experience fueled Kamran’s commitment to creating more inclusive and equitable local economies by harnessing the power of technology to connect businesses and people. With extensive experience in various-sized firms, including startups, Kamran is dedicated to driving innovation and supporting entrepreneurs at Next Street.
Outside of Next Street
Outside of work, Kamran enjoys spending quality time with his family and engaging in activities they can all participate in together. His two young kids keep him on his feet and provide endless entertainment.
