On working at Next Street
What brought me to NXST, first and foremost, is its mission and its focus on inclusive growth. At such a pivotal time for small businesses, NXST is doing important work in meeting this moment to empower entrepreneurs and small business owners – and I’m so excited to be a part of that.
Jessica holds a MSc degree in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics (LSE), where she focused her dissertation on the intersection between small business ownership, immigrant communities, and inclusive growth in urban economies. As a research assistant at LSE, she also evaluated the impact of segregation and racial inequalities on economic development in the case of Baltimore. She also holds a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
Outside of Next Street
When she’s not at work, Jessica can be found running/training for half-marathons, supporting local breweries, cheering on Washington D.C. sports teams, or finding any way to soak up Vitamin D and be outdoors (hiking, paddle boarding, rock climbing).
