As Women’s History Month comes to a close, Next Street wanted to shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions of women entrepreneurs. Women-owned businesses are not just growing in number—they are shaping the future of our economy. According to a recent Wells Fargo report co-produced by our partner Ventureneer, nearly 40% of all U.S. businesses are owned by women, collectively employing 12.9 million people across the country. Even more impressive, in 2024, women-led businesses were projected to generate $3.3 trillion in revenue, a testament to their increasing impact on economic growth. Investing in and supporting female entrepreneurship is not just about fairness—it’s an economic imperative.

For 20 years, Next Street has designed small business programs that equip entrepreneurs with the skills, resources, and networks they need to succeed. Through these programs, we’ve supported more than 800,000 small businesses, the majority of them women-owned. Nearly a decade ago, I had the privilege of designing the WE Master Leadership program, providing mentorship, networking, and leadership training for female entrepreneurs in NYC.

Recently, I had the pleasure of speaking with Sandra Garcia, Nicole McCullum, and TiffanyJoy Murchison—three outstanding women from our network who have been instrumental in supporting small business programs like WE NYC. Their stories exemplify not just the lasting impact of our work but the true power of women uplifting women.

Check out my conversations with these three exceptional entrepreneurs below.
