Jose Aleman is a Deputy Director at the NYC Business Solutions Center in Lower Manhattan, where he helps entrepreneurs access the capital and resources they need to grow and sustain their businesses.
Before joining Next Street, Jose played a key role in expanding his family’s companies—Eastern Car Service and Eastern Luxury Inc.—giving him firsthand insight into the challenges and resilience of small business owners. A U.S. Army combat veteran, Jose brings a deep commitment to service that continues to shape his work in economic development. His professional and lived experiences drive his passion for advancing policies and programs that support underserved communities.
Jose holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, a master’s degree in Business Management with a focus on Global Business, and a master’s degree in Accounting.

Outside of Next Street
When he’s not at work, Jose enjoys spending time with his three children, is actively engaged as a community board member in Brooklyn, NY, helps Veteran’s access and understand available resources, and is a cigar enthusiast.
